Virginia Park Pool & Spa

The Asbury Place Desert Gold Retreat

This custom pool and spa project is located in Tampa, Florida, and was designed as a warm, resort-style backyard retreat. The build pairs a clean, rectangular pool with a raised spa, finished in a rich Desert Gold pebble interior and wrapped in natural travertine-look porcelain decking and coping, all supported by a complete, high-performance Jandy equipment system.

Design, Size, and Premium Finishes

The pool is thoughtfully scaled at 24’ long by 10’ wide, with a depth ranging from 3.5 to 5 feet — a compact footprint that makes efficient use of the backyard while still delivering a striking visual centerpiece. An 8’ x 6’ raised spa sits alongside it, adding an elevated soaking feature and a year-round relaxation option to the design.

Interior Finish: The pool and spa are finished with PebbleTec PebbleSheen in Desert Gold. This premium pebble aggregate surface creates a warm, sun-washed golden-tan water tone that gives the pool an inviting, resort-like glow rather than the cooler blues of a standard finish.

Waterline Tile: The pool’s waterline is accented with Stonefire Noce porcelain tile in a 6” x 6” matte finish, lending a soft, earthy contrast to the golden interior. The spa’s exterior, spillway, and waterline are dressed in a bronze 1” x 1” porcelain mosaic, adding a subtle metallic accent that ties the spa visually to the surrounding hardscape.

Decking and Coping

The deck features TileTech Travertine Cross Walnut porcelain pavers, sand-set in a straight pattern for a clean, linear look that reads as natural stone without the maintenance. Matching Travertine Cross Walnut bullnose coping wraps the pool and spa shell, tying the water’s edge seamlessly into the surrounding deck.

Integrated High-Performance Jandy Equipment

The entire system runs on a unified Jandy equipment package built for efficient, reliable performance. A Jandy ePump 2.7 HP variable-speed pump drives circulation, paired with a Jandy CS200 cartridge filter (200 sq. ft.) for filtration and a Jandy TruClear salt system (35K gal.) for sanitation. A Jandy JXiQ VersaFlo 260,000 BTU natural gas heater keeps the water comfortable year-round, while two Jandy WaterColors RGBW nicheless LED lights bring the pool and spa to life after dark.
